Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels or 10 cups plain popped popcorn
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 cup dried apple rings, chopped
  • 3/4 cup candy-coated chocolate pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Pop the popcorn and place it in a large mixing bowl.
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt; stir until boiling.
  3. Allow it to boil for 4 to 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat and carefully stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the caramel sauce over the popcorn and gently toss to coat evenly.
  5. Spread the coated popcorn on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes, stirring every 10-15 minutes.
  6. After cooling for about 10 minutes, mix in the chopped dried apples and candy pieces.
