  • 2 lb boneless beef shoulder or butt
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 green onions (sliced for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cut the beef into 1-inch cubes and set aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine hoisin sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce, minced garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and black pepper. Add the cubed beef and toss well to coat.
  4. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 8 hours or overnight.
  5. Spread the marinated beef on the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle sugar over it.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C). For extra crispiness, broil each side for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  7. Garnish with sliced green onions before serving.
