Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter for the brownie batter. Mix in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined. Sift in cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt; stir until smooth.
  3. For the cookie dough, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract; mix well. Gradually incorporate remaining flour, baking soda, and salt until a soft dough forms. Fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Pour brownie batter into the prepared dish; spread evenly. Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie batter and gently press down.
  5. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until edges are set but center remains slightly gooey.
  6. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
