Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups thinly sliced russet or Yukon gold potatoes
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Paprika
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until fully cooked. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika, then drain any excess fat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup with milk and sour cream until smooth.
- Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly in a greased 9×13 baking dish and layer sliced potatoes over it.
- Pour the creamy sauce over the potatoes and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to rest for 5–10 minutes before serving and garnish with fresh parsley.
