Ingredients

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 8 ounces cremini mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup white apple vinegar
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts in half lengthwise and season with garlic powder, salt and pepper. Dredge in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the chicken for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown; transfer to a plate.
  3. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and sliced mushrooms with Italian seasoning. Sauté until mushrooms are cooked down (about 5-6 minutes).
  4. Add minced garlic, cooking until fragrant (about 1 minute). Pour in white apple vinegar and reduce for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, return chicken to the skillet, and simmer for about 5 minutes until fully cooked through.
