- 1 lb gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 cups marinara or crushed tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion until translucent.
- Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine cooked gnocchi with the sauce. Fold in any optional vegetables if desired.
- Layer half of the gnocchi mixture in a baking dish, sprinkle half of each cheese on top, then repeat with the remaining mixture and cheese.
