Ingredients

  • 1 lb gnocchi (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups marinara or crushed tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté garlic and onion until translucent.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, combine cooked gnocchi with the sauce. Fold in any optional vegetables if desired.
  5. Layer half of the gnocchi mixture in a baking dish, sprinkle half of each cheese on top, then repeat with the remaining mixture and cheese.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
