Ingredients
For the Bread:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1/2 cup orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
2–3 tablespoons orange juice
1/2 teaspoon orange zest
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs until light and slightly fluffy.
- Add orange juice, milk, melted butter, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and zest to make the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bread before slicing and serving.
