Ingredients
- 1 pound sirloin or NY strip steak, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 8 ounces white mushrooms, sliced
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 zucchini, cut into 1/2-inch sticks
- 2 tablespoons butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds
- Sliced green onions
Instructions
- Season the steak pieces with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until browned. Remove the pieces from the pan and set aside.
- Add the remaining vegetable oil and 1 teaspoon of sesame oil to the same pan. Add sliced mushrooms and onions. Sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened. Add zucchini and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Push the vegetables to one side of the pan. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter, then add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce and honey. Mix well. Pour this sauce into the pan with the vegetables.
- Return the cooked steak to the pan. Stir everything together and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened. Add remaining butter and stir until melted.
- Remove from heat and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot.
