  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Add sugar, melted butter, and gradually mix in flour until combined.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled.
  3. While the dough rises, mix diced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  4. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread softened butter over it, then layer the apple mixture evenly on top.
  5. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape; pinch edges to seal and cut into 12 equal pieces.
  6. Place rolls cut side up in a greased baking dish; cover with plastic wrap and let rise for another 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Drizzle generously with caramel sauce before serving.
