Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs ribeye or sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 6 tbsp soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 Asian pear or red apple, grated
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 carrot, julienned
- Cooked rice for serving
- Lettuce leaves for wrapping
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, grated pear or apple, gochujang (if desired), and black pepper.
- Marinate the sliced beef in the mixture for at least one hour in the refrigerator.
- Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat with neutral oil and sauté the onion and carrot until tender.
- Cook the marinated beef in batches for about 2–3 minutes per side until caramelized.
- Drizzle honey butter over the cooked beef just before removing from heat.
