Ingredients
- 10 ounces fresh strawberries (divided)
- 3–4 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 cups cold milk
- Optional: lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract
Instructions
- Hull and chop 6 ounces of strawberries and mash them in a bowl until crushed. Mix in sugar and optional lemon zest/juice.
- Transfer the mixture to a small pot over medium-low heat and simmer for 2-5 minutes until thickened into syrup.
- Remove from heat, stir in vanilla if desired, and let cool before refrigerating.
- Hull and finely dice the remaining strawberries. In two glasses, divide the cooled syrup, add diced strawberries, and pour in cold milk. Stir well before serving.
