Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups white granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 egg yolk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • ½ cup oil (canola or vegetable)
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch process)
  • 1½ tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup marshmallow crème (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F and prepare a 9×9-inch baking pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and egg yolk on high speed for about 5 minutes until pale.
  4. Slowly incorporate melted butter, oil, and vanilla extract; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture, mixing just until combined. Fold in chocolate chips.
  6. Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan. Melt marshmallow crème in the microwave for about 20 seconds and dollop it onto the batter. Swirl gently with a knife for marbling.
  7. Bake for approximately 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick comes out slightly wet but not covered in batter.
  8. Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
