  • 4 cups Water
  • 4 Black tea bags or 4 tsp loose leaf
  • 1 large Orange (zested and juiced)
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 2 Star anises (optional)
  • Honey or sugar (to taste)
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange slices (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a saucepan. While heating, zest the orange to obtain about one teaspoon of zest.
  2. Once boiling, remove from heat and add tea bags, cinnamon sticks, and orange zest (plus star anises if using). Cover and steep for 5 to 8 minutes.
  3. Juice the orange while the tea steeps. After steeping, strain the mixture and stir in the fresh orange juice along with honey or sugar if desired.
  4. Allow the tea to cool to room temperature before refrigerating until fully chilled.
  5. Serve over ice in glasses garnished with fresh orange slices and cinnamon sticks.
