- 1 large head of green cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked white rice, cooked
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 (28-ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
Instructions
- Core the cabbage and carefully remove the leaves. Blanch in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until pliable; trim thick cores.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, and pepper.
- Place filling on each cabbage leaf, fold in sides, and roll tightly.
- Arrange rolls seam-side down in a pot or Dutch oven.
- Mix crushed tomatoes, beef broth, paprika, and marjoram; pour over cabbage rolls.
- Cover and simmer on low heat for 1.5 to 2 hours until tender.
