Ingredients
- 1 medium head cauliflower
- ½ cup cornstarch
- ¼ cup gluten-free tamari
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- Fresh ginger
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup water
- 1 tbsp cornstarch for thickening
- 2 tbsp water for thickening
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and water until smooth. Toss cauliflower florets in this mixture until well coated.
- Spread the coated florets on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Meanwhile, prepare the sauce by whisking tamari, honey (or maple syrup), rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, red pepper flakes (if using), cornstarch, and water in a saucepan over medium heat until thickened.
- Once baked, toss the cauliflower in the warm sauce until evenly coated. Serve garnished with sesame seeds.
