  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup filling (red bean paste, nutella, custard)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix together cake flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
  4. Preheat your taiyaki pan over medium heat and lightly grease it.
  5. Pour some batter into one side of the mold, add about a tablespoon of filling on top, then cover with more batter.
  6. Close the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes per side or until golden brown.
  7. Remove from the pan and serve warm.
