  • 1 whole chicken (cut in half)
  • 1 tablespoon seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chile powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by cutting it in half and patting it dry.
  2. Apply the dry rub generously under the skin and on the surface.
  3. Preheat your grill to high heat (500°F). Once heated, lower to around 375°F.
  4. Grill the chicken halves skin-side down, basting with the prepared sauce every 15 minutes for about an hour.
  5. After one hour, coat with BBQ sauce and grill for an additional four minutes.
  6. Let rest for ten minutes before slicing and serving.
